Chacos are the superior Jesus sandal
It’s that time of year. We scamper out of our houses, pockets full of tax return money and minds set on finding the perfect summer shoe. Thankfully, Chacos are there to fulfill every need–comfort, durability and style–which is why they are superior to Birkenstocks, the other “Jesus sandal” on the market.
Unlike Birkenstocks, all Chacos are waterproof. You can wear them through a puddle, through a waterfall or on a kayaking adventure with no worries. With Chacos, there is no stress that they will get dirty or ruined, you can just hose them down when you’re done and focus on your adventure instead.
Chacos are also virtually indestructible and are built to last, but the company offers the services to re-strap your sandals if they happen to rip. Chaco sandals are made to be durable for hiking and other vigorous outdoor activities, and they also have great traction in water.
Some haters complain that Chacos cause blisters. While this is true for some beginner wearers, the feeling of a Chaco on your foot once they’re broken in is worth the initial struggle. Although not everyone suffers from the initial Chaco blisters, all long-term Chaco wearers that I know have agreed that the temporary discomfort is most definitely worth it.
The LUVSEAT footbed that Chacos feature make them comfortable to wear for long periods of time and give your feet a cushion to walk on. The Chaco design is certified by podiatrists and is great for people who experience foot pain or are on their feet for extended periods of time.
In contrast, Birkenstocks require the wearer to break in the sandal and allow the footbed to mold to their foot. This mold to your foot can make Birkenstocks difficult to share among friends.
Chacos come in unlimited styles for both men and women, and can be a way to express your personality or mood. They can have different amounts and colors of straps, and footbeds and can be customized online to feature your own images or have a personalized message on the back. As a Chaco owner for more than four years, I have acquired five pairs. Each pair is unique; I have Chacos with different numbers of straps, a whole rainbow of colors, both toe straps and no toe straps. Chacos allow the wearer to be creative.
Meanwhile, Birkenstocks offer fewer options to express one’s personal style, with and no customizable feature.
Chacos can also be aesthetically pleasing for photos. Many Chaco owners participate in taking pictures of the places they are visiting- whether it be the ocean, the mountains or the forest- with their Chacos in the foreground.
