Volleyball Competes in Four-Match 2025 Spring Slate
The South Dakota volleyball team opened its 2025 spring season last Saturday in Omaha, Neb. with a series of exhibition matches against Omaha, Creighton and Concordia. These matches marked the beginning of a four-match spring schedule that runs through mid-April.
Following the Omaha trip, the Coyotes traveled north to Madison, South Dakota, for an exhibition match against North Dakota State. The matchup, held at Madison High School as part of the America’s Hometown Volleyball Showdown, carried additional local significance as Coyote middle blocker Audrey Nelson is a Madison native and former standout for the Bulldogs.
The exhibition between South Dakota and NDSU was a ticketed event, with general admission and courtside tickets available to the public through the Madison Chamber of Commerce. The event provided local fans a unique opportunity to watch collegiate volleyball in a high school setting.
The Coyotes continue their spring slate on Thursday, April 10, with a road matchup against the University of Sioux Falls at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The spring campaign will conclude on Tuesday, April 15, with a home match against Augustana University at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion. All contests are set for a 6:00 p.m. start time.
South Dakota enters the spring season coming off a successful fall campaign, finishing 21-10 overall and securing the program’s fifth Summit League Tournament Championship in the last seven years. The team also made its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance over that span.
The Coyotes return 10 players from their fall roster and have welcomed two new additions to the program, who are already training with the team this spring.
