Greek Week comes to an end with God and Goddess event
After a night of support from their houses, the winners of the USD Greek God and Goddess competition were named as well as the week’s overall winners.
Kappa Alpha Theta’s Emily VanLaecken took the title of Goddess and Phi Delta Theta’s Alex Gregger was dubbed God. Delta Tau Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha and Alpha Phi were also named as the overall winners of Greek Week.
The overall week-long competition between the houses is a time-honored tradition both at USD and on a national level with all of Greek Life. With challenges ranging from a two-day blood drive to powder puff football, the Greeks have been busy competing for the prize-winning plaque and bragging rights for the rest of the year.
In tonight’s event, a member chosen from each house represented their letters in a show for charity. The participants had about three weeks to prepare a dance routine and perform it live for an audience.
The event, held in Aalfs Auditorium in Slagle Hall, cost three dollars to attend and was open to the public. Money raised from the event will be donated to the Vermillion Food Pantry. The event brings an end to Greek Week at USD.
