Q & A: Bellow has never had a Nut Roll

Junior Erin Bellow is a midfielder for the University of South Dakota women’s soccer team from Fort Collins, Colorado. Bellow recently led the 2011 Coyotes in goals and shots with five and 47, respectively. Bellow also is ranked second on the team in points with 10.
Austin Ashlock: Do you think eyebrows are considered facial hair?
Erin Bellow: Yes.
AA: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
EB: Every year my
family goes to a friend’s house and they make this broccoli rice and cheese dish and it’s amazing.
AA: What is one thing you want to do before you die?
EB: I want to travel to Italy and Ireland, because I’m half Irish and half Italian.
AA: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
EB: Let’s go with 243.
AA: What TV show or movie do you consider to be a guilty pleasure?
EB: “It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia.”
AA: Who is your least favorite musical artist/band?
EB: Probably anything screamo or heavy metal, stuff like that.
AA: Name one candy bar that should never have been made?
EB: I’m going with Nut Roll. I have never actually had one before, but they don’t seem like they’d be very great.
AA: What’s your favorite commercial?
EB: I really like the Pedigree Dentastix commercial with all the dogs wearing dentures. I think it’s cute.
AA: Do have a dream job, besides professional soccer player?
EB: Being a freelance artist. I love to be able to support myself just by making art.
AA: If I wanted to start playing soccer today, and I have never played it before, what piece of advice would you give me?
EB: Run really hard and try to pass the ball to the same people.
AA: Did you get your flu shot yet? Needle or nasal spray?
EB: I didn’t. One of the girls on our team is a nurse and she is not getting one so I am just going to follow her.
AA: What has been your favorite memory from this soccer season?
EB: Just bus trips and when were all together because we are all just slap- happy by the end of it. I love it.
AA: What will you look to improve in the offseason, not just to make yourself a better player but also to help the team get better?
EB: Our consistency playing together. We have got a lot of newbies. Getting that experience in during the spring will definitely help.
AA: Do you enjoy watching men’s or women’s soccer?
EB: I feel bad for saying it, but I’m gonna have to say men’s. They play much more powerfully than the women.
AA: White or wheat bread?
EB: Wheat, because it is better.
AA: If you could relive one day over again, what day and why?
EB: I would relive the day my club team played in a tournament and we played three games to win the championship. It was an incredible, but playing three games in one day was not easy.
