USD’s Compton drafted by Washington Redskins
University of South Dakota offensive lineman Tom Compton was the Washington Redskins’ 23rd pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft — the first Coyote player drafted since 1990.
Compton, a first team All-American, was picked No. 193 overall on Saturday. As part of the Washington Redskins, Compton will have the chance to play under head coach Mike Shanahan, offensive line coach Chris Foerster and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. Last season the Redskins went 5-11.
