USD student dies in traffic accident

Early Saturday morning, University of South Dakota student Stacey Myers, 23, was killed in a head on collision involving a semi-truck in Cedar County, Neb.

Originally from Yankton, Myers was working toward a degree in Alcohol and Drug Studies at USD, and wanted to use her degree to become a counselor.

Myers was actively involved with the Nikki’s Fund project at USD and worked at the Elks Lodge in Yankton.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend David Wildermuth officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Yankton.
