Fraternity honors Mueller with event

The men of Phi Delta Theta at the University of South Dakota will be holidng their annual Chislic Feed tonight at the Eagle’s Club from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

This year’s event, will be in memory of John Mueller, a former staff member of USD.

Mueller retired as Project Manager with the Facilities Management Department at the USD and was later diagnosed with ALS.

Mueller passed away on Oct.27 after his battle with the disease.

Before his passing, the men of Phi Delta Theta worked around his house for his family and brought him meals on Wednesdays.

Members of the fraternity participated in a mall walk for ALS in support of Mueller one week before his death.

Mueller’s wife, Michelle, still lives in Vermillion.

Admission to the event is $5 and includes all you can eat deer chislic, mashed potatoes, corn and tossed salad.

The money raised goes towards research and funding for Lou Gehrig’s Disease, the fraternity’s national

philanthropy.
