SGA discusses upcoming election
The University of South Dakota Student Government Association met briefly Feb. 19 to discuss current issues on campus.
Senators motioned to pass a resolution stating their recognition and appreciation of all university faculty and staff who assisted students during the Coyote Village pipe burst and consequent relocation in late January.
Senators briefly discussed the General Activities Fund, which motioned to cut funds for various organizations at their Feb. 12 meeting, with SGA president Alissa VanMeeteren mentioning $25,000 in leftover housing scholarships which could have been put toward GAF but was instead put in a reserve fund.
Senators also discussed the upcoming SGA election. Students will be voting for executive positions Feb. 26 and 27, and SGA will be encouraging students to vote by setting up a table in the Muenster University Center with computers available for students to cast their vote as they walk by.
A representative from the Residence Hall Association reminded SGA that they are still selling tickets to their Masquerade Ball, which will be taking place in the MUC Ballroom Feb. 27 at 8 p.m.
Students participating in Strollers reminded others that the 90th annual Strollers show we will be held this weekend Feb. 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be bought at the MUC for $10 or at the door for $12.
