Coyote women advance to WBI semis, USD to host McNeese State Thursday

The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team won a blowout match against Lamar University in the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational in Beaumont, Texas March 24.

The Coyotes defeated the Lamar Cardinals 71-48, and cemented their place in the WBI semifinals. USD will host McNeese State in the next round March 28.

Sophomore Nicole Seekamp leads USD in scoring at 14.8 points per game. First-year Margaret McCloud averages a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game. The Coyote women shoot 40.6 percent from the field and out-rebound their opponents by an average of 6.1 boards per game.
