THE RANT
Dear non-sports fans,
March Madness will soon consume the world of many sports fans with an endless supply of college
basketball.
Every year, during March, someone always asks the question “What is so different about the NCAA tournament that makes fans go crazy over it?”
This seems to be a relative question, but in the sporting world, there are not many events that come close to the excitement of the 68-team elimination tournament.
Intense win or go-home situations rarely occur on such a large scale.
Playoffs in major sports leagues usually have less than 10 teams playing and there is no chance for a true underdog to emerge.
Every March, the chance to cheer on a Cinderella story becomes a true reality which is special to sports fans everywhere.
