Do’s & Don’t’s: Rivalry Week

Check out the list of what to do and what not to during during the week of the USD vs. SDSU game.

Please Do

Go to the game:

This is the No. 1 rule of rivalry week. If students don’t show up and absolutely pack the student section at a home game against the longest rivalry in the history of the university, that just looks sad on our behalf.

Get into all the hype:

It’s a long-standing rivalry for a reason. Take the week to show some school pride and get into the excitement of playing SDSU in the DakotaDome for the first time since 2003.

Stay true to the ‘Yotes:

No matter the score of the game, make sure to stay a true Coyote for the entire game and the time after. The entire point of a school rivalry and a legacy such as this is to show just how much the students love USD and cherish being a Coyote, win or lose.

Please Don’t

Miss the game:

If you miss out on tailgating and the game, you’re going to regret it. This is the biggest game of the year and will most likely be the most exciting time to be standing in the student section at the DakotaDome.

Miss out on the excitement:

Don’t let the week pass by without enjoying some of the rivalry banter and anticipation leading up to game day.

Lose your loyalty:

Remain a true Coyote fan throughout the week and after the showdown. The point of rivalry week is to get into the hype and show true school pride for a legacy that has spanned generations.
