Provost candidates to be selected by early May
The search for the University of South Dakota’s new provost is in full swing and moving toward selecting preliminary candidates by early May, said Mary Nettleman, provost search committee chair.
Nettleman said the committee has begun reviewing applications, but no selections have been made for preliminary interviews or on-campus interviews. The plan is to host all on-campus interviews in early May if everything goes to plan, she said.
“We’re still in the evaluation process,” she said. “Generally, there’s good responses. Geographically, they have been all over the country.”
Former USD Provost Chuck Staben left for his new position as President at the University of Idaho in February and officially began duties as President on March 1. Kurt Hackemer is serving as interim provost for the university.
