USD men fall to SDSU 71-57
Despite an early 20-0 lead for the University of South Dakota men’s basketball team, in-state rival South Dakota State won their fourth straight game against the Coyotes 71-57 at Frost Arena Saturday afternoon.
After completing the 20-0 run, the Coyotes allowed the Jackrabbits 18 points in a row to jump ahead 28-22.
A three-pointer from senior guard Tyler Larson with 12:23 left in the game put USD (9-10, 3-2) ahead 41-38, but a 25-4 run by the Jacks (13-7, 4-2) sealed their win for the night.
USD’s Larson had 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, while senior guard Brandon Bos scored 18 points. Senior center James Hunter also had 10 points and five rebounds.
