71-year-old Sioux Falls Man In Custody After 4-hour Standoff

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A 71-year-old Sioux Falls man is in custody after a four-hour standoff with a SWAT team.

Police say the man threatened officers with a butcher knife when they responded to a report of a disorderly subject just after midnight Wednesday.

Authorities say the man retreated into his apartment, where he stayed until his arrest without incident about 4 a.m. Thursday.

The man was jailed on aggravated assault charges.
