Authorities Investigating Shooting, Other Incident In Lennox

LENNOX, S.D. (AP) — Authorities are at two crime scenes about 20 miles southwest of Sioux Falls, including at an industrial business in Lennox where two people were shot.

It happened Thursday afternoon at Sioux Steel. The condition of the people shot wasn’t immediately released. The attorney general’s office says officers are still looking for the suspect.

Lennox Mayor Orville Wiebers (WEE’-bers) says officers from several agencies are also about 4 miles southwest of town at a burned-out vehicle parked along a gravel road.

He and police say they’re not yet sure if the two incidents are related.

The school and some other buildings near the site of the shooting were on lockdown for a time.
