Parts Of Dakotas Get Freezing Rain, Other Parts Get Snow

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Freezing rain coated roads in some parts of the Dakotas, making for a slippery commute.

The National Weather Service early Tuesday issued freezing rain advisories for south central North Dakota and for a large portion of eastern South Dakota. Forecasters said ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch were expected.

At least one school in northeastern South Dakota delayed the start of classes due to the conditions.

A winter weather advisory was posted for far northeastern South Dakota and for north central and eastern North Dakota into Tuesday afternoon. Forecasters said up to 5 inches of snow was expected in northern North Dakota.
