YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — A winter storm that blanketed much of the Plains and Midwest dumped more than half a foot of snow on southeastern South Dakota.
National Weather Service reports show that Sioux Falls got nearly 6 ½ inches of snow on Sunday, and Yankton got about 8 inches.
The storm dumped up to a foot-and-a-half of snow on the Chicago area. It has now moved on to the Northeast.
Monday’s forecast calls for a chance of snow in northern South Dakota and in the Black Hills.
