Armed Home Invasion Being Investigated In Brookings County

ELKTON, S.D. (AP) — The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed home invasion in rural Elkton.

Authorities say a man entered an unlocked residence north of Elkton about 7 a.m. Monday, armed with a handgun and a knife. The man tied up the lone male occupant of the home, disabled his cellphone and ransacked the home.

The thief stole more than $1,000 worth of cash, clothing and electronics.

The occupant of the home was not hurt.
