Storage Units On The Rise In Northeast South Dakota

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — The number of storage units in Aberdeen has grown over the past decade. So much so, that the city now has one unit for every 15 or so residents. Chris Gross runs the West 12 storage facility. He estimates that about 500 units have gone up in the past seven years. He says his facility doesn’t have a waiting list anymore, but it’s still at full capacity.

Gross says he believes the lockers have become popular for various reasons including city codes that don’t allow people to leave stuff out in their yards.
