Trial Set For Sioux Falls Man Charged With 2 Counts Of Rape

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A trial has been set for a Sioux Falls man accused of sexually assaulting two women at a house party.

The change of plea hearing scheduled Friday was canceled after 37-year-old Mickey Francisco Joliffe decided he wanted the case tried by a jury. His trial is set to begin next Wednesday.

Joliffe is charged with two counts of second-degree rape. The Argus Leader ( ) reports he’s accused of sexually assaulting the women in a bathroom during a party in August.

Police say the victims left the party shortly after, and then reported the rape the following day. It’s unclear why the women waited to report the incident.

Joliffe is being held at the Minnehaha County Jail on $100,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
