Hunting Lodge That Hosted Hollywood Stars Destroyed In Fire

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — An investigation is underway into a weekend fire that destroyed what some considered an historic hunting lodge in Day County.

Authorities say the Sunday evening fire is considered suspicious. The Day County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The lodge near Pickerel Lake had been abandoned for decades. The family of Dianne Huggett of Roslyn once owned the building. She tells the American News that during its heyday as the Blue Goose Lodge, it hosted Hollywood actors including Clark Gable and Raymond Burr.
