Teen Arrested For Assaulting Girl, 14, In Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on accusations he assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Sioux Falls.
The Argus Leader ( ) reports the girl was walking in an alley with friends about 8 p.m. Sunday when she was attacked by an acquaintance.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the 16-year-old suspect walked up behind the girl and hit her in the legs with a stick-like object. He says the girl fell to the ground and the boy hit her in the head with a rock.
Clemens says the boy also punched the girl multiple times in the face before putting her in a chokehold and eventually running off.
Officers arrived at the boy’s home Monday afternoon and found he had been drinking earlier in the day.
He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and underage consumption.
