Hospital: 3 Hurt After Tornado Hits SD Town Of Delmont

DELMONT, S.D. (AP) — At least three people are hurt after a tornado struck the small southern South Dakota town of Delmont.

Hospital spokeswoman Lindsey Meyers says three people are in good condition at Avera St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston.

Meyers says all three either drove themselves or were taken by car to the hospital.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says law enforcement officials said a tornado hit Delmont about 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

South Dakota Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan says there has been damage but it is still being assessed.

Meteorologist Brad Adams of the National Weather Service says another tornado touched down west of Ethan but no damage was reported.
