Man Charged In Pennington County Fatal Stabbing

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested in the stabbing death of his roommate in Pennington County.

The Rapid City Journal reports ( ) a 21-year-old has been arrested on a second-degree murder charge for the Saturday stabbing of 25-year-old Matthew Wassenaar in a subdivision south of Rapid City.

Capt. Corey Brubakken of the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said Wassenaar had been stabbed several times. The suspect and victim were roommates with four others at the home.

The suspect is in custody at the Pennington County Jail and will make an initial court appearance Monday, when his bond will be set.
