Retiring Board Of Regents CEO Warner Gets Honorary Doctorate

MADISON, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Board of Regents has given its highest honor to its retiring leader.

Executive Director and CEO Jack Warner is retiring at the end of the month, after six years leading the system that oversees South Dakota’s six public universities and two special schools.

The Regents have awarded the honorary degree doctor of public service to Warner, for what the organization says is “extraordinary service and leadership.”

Warner is leaving at a time when enrollment at the state’s public universities is at an all-time high.
