Ziggy’s Stores In Rapid City, Spearfish Being Closed

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — The owner of the Ziegler Building Center home improvement stores in Rapid City and Spearfish is closing both businesses after more than 40 years.

Jon Ziegler says liquidation sales will begin Thursday. The stores will close when they run out of merchandise.

The Rapid City Journal reports ( ) that the stores known as Ziggy’s have been a fixture in the local home improvement market for decades. But the 67-year-old Ziegler says a fire that destroyed much of the Rapid City store in May 2014 set the business back.

A dozen people work at the two stores.
