28-year-old Man Dies After Pickup Crashes Into Semi-truck

BRIDGEWATER, S.D. (AP) — A 28-year-old man died Friday afternoon after the pickup he was driving collided with semi-truck near Bridgewater.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says the man driving the pickup crossed the center line on Highway 42 and hit the truck, which was carrying a harvesting combine on its trailer.

The 26-year-old driver of the truck tractor wasn’t injured. The two drivers were the only people involved in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The men’s names are being withheld pending family notification.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the situation.
