Deadline Approaching For Community, Safety Project Grants

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The state Department of Agriculture says the deadline is approaching to apply for grants that are available for community improvement and public safety projects.

The agency said Thursday that applications for Building Our South Dakota Rural Communities grant program funding need to be sent in by the end of the month.

Basic community improvement grants are limited to $750 for each project, and up to $200 is available for each safety grant project.

The funding is available for 4-H clubs, FFA chapters and Family Career and Community Leaders of America chapters.

Finance Administrator Terri LaBrie says that projects funded through the backing are designed to display the importance of working together for rural life improvement.
