Police Release Name Of Man Killed In Bicycle Wreck

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Sioux Falls police have released the name of a man killed from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident last week.

Police say 63-year-old Dale Kimpton was riding his bicycle on 41st Street on Oct. 8 when his bike struck the front tire of a car pulling out of a gas station. Kimpton, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bicycle. He was hospitalized but died on Wednesday.

The woman driving the car was cited for failure to yield from a private drive and failure to exercise due care.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the investigation is ongoing and any decision on further charges would be made after talking to the offices of the city attorney and state’s attorney.
