SD Driver Dies After Losing Control Of SUV, Hitting Tree

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — A South Dakota driver is dead after he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and hit a tree Sunday night.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol on Monday said the 33-year-old man was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on Milwaukee Avenue in Aberdeen, when he lost control while negotiating a curve and hit a tree around 8 p.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol says the man was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been publicly identified pending notification of his family.

The Highway Patrol says the incident remains under investigation.
