South Dakota Corn Stocks Up 16.5M Bushels From Last Year
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The USDA says South Dakota September 1 corn stocks rose by 16.5 million bushels from last year.
The agency’s National Agricultural Statistics Service says the stocks totaled 92.4 million bushels on September 1. Of the total, 45 million bushels were stored on farms, up 29 percent from a year ago. More than 47 million bushels were stored off-farm, up 16 percent from last year.
Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 7.9 million bushels, up 128 percent from last year. And all wheat stored in all positions totaled 95.8 million bushels, down 4 percent from a year ago.
Sorghum off-farm stocks totaled 83,000 bushels, down 93 percent, and oats stored in all positions totaled 12.2 million bushels, up 34 percent. Barley on-farm stocks totaled 290,000 bushels, down 49 percent from 2014.
