Coyote men defeat South Dakota School of Mines 83-63
USD had no problem dispatching South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday night.
After leading 40-25 at the half, the close scoring second half saw the Coyotes score 43 points and the School of Mines score 38 points leading to an 83-63 USD victory.
Coyote senior guard Casey Kasperbauer led all scorers with 26 points. Kasperbauer also hit six threes and shot 60 percent from three point range.
The School of Mines was led in scoring by forward Konor Kulas, who had 18 points on the night to go along with his team high of eight boards. Coyote guard Tre Burnette had another great game on the boards, pulling down 13 rebounds to go along with his 8 points. Coyote senior guard Trey Norris led all players with 10 assists off the bench. Freshman forward Dan Jech had a solid outing for the Coyotes. Jech scored 7 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and added a block to his total.
School of Mines had a tough night shooting, going 31 percent from the field and 24 percent from three point range. The Coyotes shot nearly 51 percent from the field, but only knocked down 60 percent from the foul stripe.
The Coyotes will next be in action on Saturday and Sunday as they travel to Sacramento, CA to take on Sacramento State and Eastern Washington.
