Soccer loses first round of Summit League Tournament
The USD women’s soccer team fell to North Dakota State 4-3 in the first round of the Summit League Tournament in Brookings on Thursday.
It was a heartbreak of a game for the Coyotes, who led 3-2 with three minutes left in the game, before NDSU’s Lauren Miller was able to equalize and send the game into overtime.
In the first overtime, USD was the aggressor and outshot the Bison 5-0, but could not find the back of the net. A second overtime goal was scored by NDSU’s Britney Monteon to end the game 4-3.
The loss ended South Dakota’s (8-12-0) first-ever Division I post-season run in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament.
