In the final minutes of double overtime, Mitchell headed in her second goal of the season off of a corner kick assisted by senior Amanda Carpio to end the game 3-2.
“We were not going to lose,” Mitchell said. “We had a lot of chances in overtime in the first and second half, but at minute 104 we got a corner kick and Carp (Carpio) put a beauty in the back post where I was running in and scored a header goal I dream of. This was one for the books that’s for sure.”
Mitchell was also awarded Summit League Player of the Week for her work against Wyoming and Drake in the previous week, marking her first career honor.
USD vs Northern Colorado
USD took down the Bears in Greely, Colorado 1-0, dropping Northern Colorado to a 4-5 season record.
The Coyotes survived the defensive struggle after an early score to earn their third win in six days.

Freshman goalkeeper Bella Alessio tallied four saves to secure the clean sheet for USD.
The victory completed a perfect stretch of road games for the Coyotes, who are now 3-2 away from home this season.
“What worked well was this teams effort, and ability to stay positive through it all.” Mitchell said. “Every minute, we all gave it our all. I think teams that can fight through any sorts of adversity, is a championship team.”
