Men’s Golf Places Fifth at Donald Ross Collegiate
The South Dakota Men’s Golf team traveled to Southern Pines, North Carolina, to compete in the Donald Ross Collegiate on March 3-4.
Freshman Jack Holtz posted rounds of 69, 70 and 72, tallying 15 birdies and finishing at 5-under par for the tournament.
The event marked Holtz’s first appearance for the Coyotes this spring, where he tied for fourth.
Teammate Max Schmidtke followed with a third-round 70, including three birdies and an eagle on the third hole, placing him 25th overall.
The Coyotes finished fifth overall with team rounds of 291, 295 and 288. The field featured 20 teams with South Dakota ending with a 10-over-par score.
The Coyotes will continue their season at the Pay It Forward Collegiate in Litchfield Park, Arizona, on March 24-25.
