Coyote Tennis Competes in North Dakota
The South Dakota Coyote’s tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The day came down to a final singles match that decided the winner between the two teams.
In the doubles contest, USD’s Sorcha Caves and Amanda de Oliveira defeated North Dakota’s Aziza Aubin and Ethel Li 5-4.
However, UND was able to claim wins in the next two doubles matches by defeating USD’s pair of Grace Chadick and Bea Havlickova 6-4 and the pair of Selena Bird and Katarina Curcic 6-4.
In the singles, USD claimed two wins with Havlickova defeating Andrea Pineda of UND. Next, USD’s Sorcha Caves got a win over Li.
De Oliveira fell to UND’s Julie Schulte in two sets, and Curcic also fell to Alyssa Giupponi in two sets.
Selena Bird for the Coyotes took a win over Nore Heinitz in two sets, but Chadick dropped in three to Aubin of UND.
The Coyotes will be back on the court in Vermillion against the Creighton Blue Jays on Tuesday, April 8, beginning at noon.
