4-H Club In Clay, Union, Yankton Counties Has New Adviser

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State University Extension has a new 4-H youth program adviser for Clay, Union and Yankton counties.

The Yankton Daily Press and Dakotan reports ( ) Minnesota native Lauren Hollenbeck has recently taken the new role. Her position comes with various duties including coordinating youth activities and after-school programs.

Stephanie Siebrandt is the 4-H youth development coordinator in Yankton County. She says Hollenbeck will play a “big role” in the county’s 4-H main events.

Hollenbeck says she is looking forward to the state fair in Huron this summer and hopes to get more children involved with 4-H.

Hollenbeck participated in 4-H when she was younger and says she particularly enjoyed showing goats. She has an animal science degree from SDSU and previously worked at Tyson Foods in Arkansas.
