SD Historical Society Adds New Collection Of WWI Postcards

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State Historical Society has added a new collection of postcards from the first World War to its digital archives.

KELO-TV reports ( ) archivists at the historical society have added more than 90 postcards to its digital collection. The images are mostly of European soldiers in uniform and towns destroyed during the war. Other images include tanks, trenches, airplanes, and a motorcycle.

There are currently over 60,000 images available for viewing in the South Dakota Digital Archives.
