Sculpture Damaged By Vandals To Go Back Up In Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A sculpture has been repaired and is returning to its place in an annual exhibition in downtown Sioux Falls after it was damaged by vandals.
The Argus Leader ( ) reports the piece called “Book Peddlers” was knocked from its perch in front of a bank last month. It is being reinstalled Thursday morning after being repaired.
The website for SculptureWalk says the piece is valued at $25,800. Jeff Hanson with the exhibition says repair costs aren’t yet known, but initial estimates were between $500 and $1,000.
Another sculpture in the exhibition called “Raven” went missing from its spot across the street from “Book Peddlers.” It was found the next day in a park.
