Sioux Falls-based National Guard Unit To Serve In Kuwait
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls-based Army National Guard unit has been called to serve in the Middle East next year.
Thirty-nine soldiers with the Guard’s 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade will serve a nine-month tour in Kuwait, beginning late next February. The soldiers will conduct protection and security operations.

The unit will report to Fort Bliss, Texas, for several weeks of training before heading overseas.
The 196th served in Afghanistan in 2010-11.
