Tornado Watch Issued For Much Of Central South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — A tornado watch has been issued for much of central South Dakota until 11 p.m.

The watch stretches from Lymann County in the south to the North Dakota border and from Corson County in the west to Marshall County in the east. It includes Pierre, Huron, Aberdeen and Mobridge.

The National Weather Service says a couple tornadoes are possible in addition to scattered large hail and isolated very large hail.

The weather service also forecasts damaging winds of up to 70 mph in some areas.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
