Students looking forward to T-Pain, concert location
The students have spoken: T-Pain will be rapping at the DakotaDome on Feb. 11.
Shelby McCabe, co-chair of CAB, said moving the performance from Aalfs to the DakotaDome was a matter of appealing to students’ requests.
“Aalfs has always been where we’ve been able to hold it, but the Dome has always been preferred by students from all the feedback we’ve gotten,” McCabe said. “So we worked hard to make sure it could be in the Dome where the students preferred it. And so then more students could be there and it’s a more overall concert experience.”
USD students may not be the only ones to enjoy the concert, Niki Bussmus, CAB co-chair, said.
“Some Sioux Falls students may come, I mean we have reached out to the University of Sioux Falls and they seemed just as excited as we are for T-Pain to come,” Bussmus said.
McCabe said T-Pain won the campus-wide vote by “quite a bit.” Overall, McCabe and Bussmus said students are enthusiastic about T-Pain.
“We’ve heard a lot of good feedback,” McCabe said. “People are really happy that we could get T-Pain and especially that he’ll be in the Dome.”
There are some students who seem just as excited about the choice of venue as they are about the performer himself.
“I’m glad it’s in the Dome this year, I think that’ll be more fun,” said Courtney Bolkema, a sophomore nursing major.
As with any concert, some students aren’t as enthusiastic about T-Pain’s upcoming visit.
“I’ve heard a couple of his tracks, but, I’m not a fan,” said Anzhelica Chumakova, a junior linguistics major.
