BREAKING: Dawn Plitzuweit named new USD women’s head basketball coach

Dawn Plitzuweit has been named the 10th women’s basketball head coach in program history.

Plitzuweit, who is coming from a coaching position at Northern Kentucky, has compiled a 188-93 record in nine years as a head coach. She has led programs to 19 winning seasons in 21 years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels including 10 NCAA tournament appearances. She’ll replace former USD head coach Amy Williams, who left USD for a head coaching position at Nebraska last week.

At a press conference Monday at 11 a.m. Plitzuweit will officially be introduced to the USD and Vermillion community.
