BLOG: Do it yourself

If you want something right, do it yourself.

I understand that sometimes you need a little help now and then, but my sanity is on the line here.

I’ll elaborate; people often ask me to do things for them when it comes to newspaper duties. I’m an editor, so I’m really busy here. I spend basically every Monday and Tuesday in the office working on things for print and online, so when my writers ask me to do things for them, say, find a student source, it’s my job to help them out.

But when I do things to make their lives easier and they do nothing but complain about it, it really grinds by gears.

When I go out of my way to make your life easier, don’t criticize the way I did it. I did it, and that’s what matters.

I know it sounds I’m just using this blog to complain to the general public about my life, but if I did it to my friends, they wouldn’t want to hang out with me anymore. I thank you for listening.

But again, what right do people have to whine about me making their lives easier by extending their deadline? After that, what makes it OK to complain about having to come in and edit your work?

So, people, I beg of you. Lay off, will you?
