Airline Vying For Pierre Contract Makes Final Plea To DOT

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — An airline selected by Pierre officials to provide passenger service has told federal regulators it should be allowed to fly to South Dakota’s capital city.

The Department of Transportation announced in January it planned to deny the application of Aerodynamics Inc. for service. The agency says its decision came in light of the legal and financial issues surrounding its CEO at the time.

KCCR-AM reports ( ) that Aerodynamics told federal regulators in its official response this week that CEO Scott Beale had been replaced by F. Darrel Richardson. The airline said it had taken “swift and decisive” action and that the department should grant its application.

It’s unclear when the department will make a decision. Pierre city officials have until the end of February to comment on the matter.
