Eugene Paulson, who also goes by Herman Paulson, was sentenced last year to three consecutive six-month prison terms.

The 78-year-old appealed his jury conviction on one count of threatening or intimidating a judicial officer, one count of offering a false instrument for filing and one count of uttering simulated process.

But in a ruling filed Thursday, the state’s high court affirmed the conviction.

The Department of Corrections says Paulson is at the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls and scheduled to be released Friday, though he’ll be on probation.
