Prayer Service Set In Harrisburg After School Shooting

HARRISBURG, S.D. (AP) — The community of Harrisburg is holding a prayer service after a school shooting that injured an administrator.

Authorities say high school Principal Kevin Lein was shot by a student Wednesday morning and suffered a minor flesh wound to an arm. He’ll be OK, and no students were injured. The student who fired the shot was subdued by school officials and arrested.

The prayer service is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Harrisburg Performing Arts Center. Organizers say it will enable people of all faiths to join together to pray for peace and safety.
