Visiting professor to speak on role of cathedrals in medieval cities
A professor specializing in medieval architecture and sculpture in France and Spain will be speaking at USD next week about the role of cathedrals within medieval cities.
Caroline Bruzelius, a professor from Duke University, will speak at “The Cathedral and the City” event Thursday, March 17 at 4 p.m. in the Freedom Forum conference room in the Al Neuharth Media Center, according to a USD press release.
Bruzelius served as director of the American Academy in Rome from 1994 to 1998 and has published multiple books about architecture in medieval societies.
The speech is sponsored by the Phi Beta Kappa Society of USD and is part of their Visiting Scholar Program.
