Dakota Brick House menu coming soon
Dakota Brick House opened in downtown Vermillion last semester, and has been busy ever since.
“We’ve been pretty steady, full,” said Brick House manager Josh Scherrer. “We see around 1,400 total a night on a weekend.”
Scherrer said the establishment caters to all categories of local clientele.
“We have a pretty wide range, like The Café is kind of all over the place,” he said. “Here every night we kind of get our first rush, it’s more of the town people. Then come around 8, 8:30-ish, our professor population comes through, which we have a pretty strong following of USD professors, which is great. And then after that come around 8:30-ish, 9, 10-ish, we get more students, especially on the weekends.”
While Brick House doesn’t have a full menu available yet, they hope to have one in the next month.
“Our menu is complete, it’s finished, it’s in the back, we’re working on learning how to prep it and serve it… kitchen staff is hard to get in this town. We’ve got a few people but we’re training people in as we go,” Scherrer said. “It would be nice to have it in the next 30 days, but hopefully a month from now.”
Scherrer said customers can expect to see more events held at the establishment in the future.
“We hoping to start doing some bands out on the patio,” he said. “We’re also hoping to do some open piano nights where people can come in and just play the piano, I think that will be Tuesdays, and we’re going to try to keep bringing more events in here and on the patio.”
The brick house is so far one of the best, especially when it comes to the design. The materials used for the construction came from a reclaimed pressed brick company that has a lot of styles of brick stone that you can choose from.
