“Marquee Messages Fundraiser” lets donors run custom messages

The Dakota Hospital Foundation is in the midst of its “Marquee Messages Fundraiser,” where donors can submit custom messages to be shown on the LED sign located outside Sanford Vermillion.

Cindy Benzel, director of the Dakota Hospital Foundation, said the messages people submit tend to be holiday greetings, birthday and anniversary wishes and congratulations for others’ accomplishments. Messages are limited to two to three lines, excluding event advertising.

“Submit your message, return to the payment process, and see your message glow,” Benzel said in an email interview with The Volante.

Benzel said the foundation, which began its work in 1930, supports initiatives focused on enhancing opportunities in three main areas through financial contributions. These areas are clinical innovations, health care education and quality of life.

The first, clinical innovations, involves fostering and enhancing programs and services, like 3D mammography, remodels and the purchase of new equipment. The second, health care education, involves support of community health and wellness programs and scholarships for health professionals. Quality of life includes supporting community projects that enhance the quality of life of residents, patients, visitors and staff.

“All gifts to the Dakota Hospital Foundation are used to further its important mission,” Benzel said. “(This mission is) improving the health of the individuals and communities in our area.”
